About Our Presentation
The current pattern of development in north Texas is not sustainable, neither fiscally nor environmentally. Vision North Texas is a public-private-academic partnership started in 2005 by the North Central Texas Council of Governments' Center for Development Excellence to increase awareness about expected growth, provide a forum for discussion on critical issues, and build support for initiatives that might create a fiscally and environmentally sustainable future for North Texas.
Our July presentation summarizes the results and findings of the multi-year planning and visioning effort that culminated in the release of the award-winning Vision North Texas 2050 Plan. Kevin will also discuss current global and national trends, highlight a few projects from north Texas that are incorporating new approaches, and offer some suggestions on how cities can position themselves to stay competitive in recruiting and retaining businesses and residents.
