Cool House Tour 2021

For the past quarter-century, we’ve proudly partnered with Austin Energy Green Building to tour some of greater Austin area’s coolest green homes; again this year from the comfort of your front porch!

The Cool House Tour is an annual event that showcases homes that are designed and built to high standards of energy efficiency, comfort and regional design. This signature event provides an opportunity for people to learn about living sustainably and comfortably in the hot Central Texas climate. The Cool House Tour is co-produced by Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) and Texas Solar Energy Society (TXSES).

Individual tour tickets are FREE this year!

Professionals and students interested in earning continuing education credits can choose to purchase a CEU ticket.

All CEU ticket proceeds benefit TXSES!

This year’s virtual tour features a mixed-use condo tower, an affordable multifamily community, two east Austin backyard dwellings, a modern home in west Austin and a suburban home designed for a challenging site. These six properties showcase:

Healthy material selections
Energy efficiency strategies
Water-saving methods
Renewable energy options
